Having accountability at home is important in an online school setting. The Canvas Parent App allows you to view all of your child’s upcoming, past and future projects, their homework list, upcoming due dates or tests – and it even shows their marks by assignment. 

Everything is clearly and accessibly laid out on the app – and it’s free to check at whatever time is most convenient for you! By having due dates and workloads laid out for you, you can track what your child is learning, how much they have on their plate – and it makes arranging plans as a family outside of school that much easier. 

If you notice your child isn’t completing their work, having the app allows you to intervene early, and take action to get their progress and learning habits back on track. Every week, you’ll get a notification in your inbox on the Canvas Parent App. Depending on your child’s participation that week, they will be eligible for a certain number of points. Points depend on how much each learner: 

✅ Attended live lessons or watched lesson recordings

✅ Compled lesson modules

✅ Completed homework

✅ Submitted assessments

The more consistent they are, the more points they collect!

Once you view your child’s progress for the week prior, you can bank their points and redeem the points at the end of the term for discounts on your school fees! 

And learners get rewarded too! Depending on the points they collect each week, they can redeem them for Takealot vouchers at the end of each term.
