How Grade 5 online school works

Teneo’s Grade 5 online school turns growing independence into steady study habits, across a well-rounded timetable from Mathematics and languages to History, Geography and coding. Your child can follow timetabled live lessons every weekday from 07:45 to 14:15, recorded lessons on a schedule or a mix of the two, all taught by qualified teachers. To homeschool, choose Without Classes or Without Classes and Reports: your child works through every content module on a schedule while you guide them at home.

Grade 5 is taught in English or Afrikaans and follows CAPS, South Africa’s national curriculum, at a school registered with the IEB. With classes, every lesson is saved to the lesson recordings library and you can message teachers directly. In every option, qualified teachers set, mark and moderate assessments, with a promotion report each term. You can enrol at any time of year. Term 1 of 2027 starts on 11 January.

Grade 5 school fees and learning options for 2027

In 2027, Grade 5 is taught on the IEB pathway in English or Afrikaans, with fees from R800 a month across five learning options: 100% Live Classes, Mix of Live and Recorded Classes, 100% Recorded Classes, Without Classes or Without Classes and Reports. A once-off registration fee is payable on enrolment. On the class options, a 5% sibling discount applies to a second child and any further siblings.

Grade 5 subjects

In Grade 5 your child studies eight subjects, following CAPS, in English or Afrikaans medium. The subjects are the same in both, with the languages reversed: Afrikaans-medium learners take Afrikaans Home Language and English First Additional Language.
