How Grade 1 online school works
Grade 1 at Teneo’s online school builds strong foundations in reading, writing and numbers, taught at home by qualified Foundation Phase teachers in live lessons every weekday from 07:45 to 13:35. For families weighing up homeschooling, this is learning at home with a qualified teacher leading every lesson. Teneo’s two homeschooling options, Without Classes and Without Classes and Reports, open in Grade 4.
Lessons are taught in English and follow CAPS, South Africa’s national curriculum, at a school registered with the IEB. Every lesson is saved to the lesson recordings library, so your child can watch it again. Qualified teachers set, mark and moderate every assessment, with a promotion report each term. You can enrol at any time of year. Term 1 of 2027 starts on 11 January.

Grade 1 school fees and learning options for 2027
In 2027, Grade 1 runs as 100% Live Classes on the IEB pathway, taught in English, with fees from R4,800 a month. A once-off registration fee is payable on enrolment. A 5% sibling discount applies to a second child and any further siblings.
