How world’s top 20 angler Liashya Mudray turned recovery into a world-stage dream

From a three-year recovery after spinal surgery to ranking among the world’s top 20 international female anglers, Liashya Mudray is proof that passion, discipline, and flexibility can redefine what’s possible.

Now representing South Africa on the international stage, she competes in Italy and Spain while excelling academically as a Grade 11 learner at Teneo Online School.

“Even when I travel, I can attend classes, write exams, and stay connected with my teachers,” she says. “Teneo gave me the freedom to study and still do what I love.”

For Liashya, recovery became resilience — and flexibility became opportunity. With Teneo’s live and recorded lessons, she can balance school, sport, and global travel without compromise.
